Sense Sonnet - Acher

Bloody Sunday

The "Bloody Sunday" march took place
March 7, 1965.
Most marchers were of Negro race,
To make their dreams of rights be live.
Upon a bridge in Selma town,
State troopers went on the attack,
And beat the marchers bloody down.
How would the nation now come back,
After this crime the nation saw?
The federal government did act.
The Voting Rights Act became law.
A wrong made right should be a fact.

The right to vote wrongs of the past,
Reminders for the future cast.
