Gender Speak

The term, "transgender" came to be,
Latin -  across from him to her,
To complement identity.
So came "cisgender" to assure,
Latin -  this side assigned at birth,
By "it's a girl" or "it's a boy,"
Kept by most folks while on this Earth.
But some want transfer to deploy.
Male or female - check in the box
Is nowadays so out of date,
Varied biological clocks
Need gendering specificate.

Thank goodness Facebook provides this,
There are options for trans or cis.
