Sense Sonnet - Acher

Short Memory

The U.S. Memorial Day,
Meant to remember those who died
Fighting for our freedom's way,
In resting places found worldwide.
Serving the nation, fallen fell
Through centuries of human war,
Deserving heaven from Earth's hell,
Fallen could not have given more.
In memory, We living give
The last Monday each month of May.
Do good, do bad, but We do live.
The dead do not do holiday.

Marked and unmarked, the fallen lie.
For freedom's call each one did die.
