Sense Sonnet - Acher

Champlessly

Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field.
Ricketts bought both in package deal,
Yearning for the revenue yield
From oldies with such fan appeal.
World Series Champs? - a hundred years
Of hearing next year, then 'twill be.
Each year starting with hopeful cheers.
Each year ending world champlessly.
Some modernizing will, no doubt,
Occur. One day fans will beam in
Another hundred years without
The ever dreamed World Series win.

Cubs and Wrigley - never be gone,
As long as world champ dreams dream on.
