Sense Sonnet - Tickler

Her Corginess

You may call me Susan the First,
Given to the Queen by King Dad,
When she upon age 18 burst.
I was the first corgi she had.
The Queen adored me much indeed.
I and the doggies in my line
Became the Queen's own royal breed.
The palace hops for me and mine.
As herding dogs, we yap and nip,
And so the staff don't like us much.
But they knew better than give lip.
The Queen would not be pleased by such.

Just one of palace life's ordeals,
Us yapping and nipping at heels.
