The powers that be tell us that
We're in Afghanistan to fight
The terrorists where they are at,
And not have to fight them here - right?
Our soldiers have to spend their time
And give their lives in a raw land
Where people deal in cultured crime
That we will never understand.
The terrorists become more skilled
Like the Viet Cong used to be.
For the numbers that we have killed
We'll be there for eternity.

Afghanistan is far yet near.
