Sense Sonnet - Pumper
Patriotic Gesture
A cemetery is nearby.
I went on Memorial Day.
All the tiny flags I did spy.
That night I scampered back that way.
I grabbed up all those tiny flags.
There were no living folks around.
And after many jigs and jags,
I got all those flags homebound.
Then I arranged them oh so nice
In patterns of red, white and blue.
The U.S.A. is paradise.
I count my blessings. Yes I do.
Each flag I proudly do unfurl.
I am a patriotic squirrel.
