Sense Sonnet - Pumper

Mandela

Nelson Mandela, an old man,
When he walked from the prison walls,
That held him for three decades span.
In silence, sending strongest calls
That though his body was not free,
His spirit moved in soaring grace.
So that when the time came to be,
The world saw more than aged face.
He brought forth purpose from the past
To give the future hope, so true,
Of a better life that could last
For generations to renew.

Walked from yesterdays of sorrow
Toward promises of tomorrow.
