Sense Sonnet - Chiller

Tree Attack

An old elm tree stands all alone
On top of a small barren hill.
It's strange that nothing else has grown
Around the tree, and all is still.
There are no sounds of bug or bird
I walk up the hill, till I reach
The tree trunk. Massive is the word,
With overhanging branches - each
Appearing ominous in shape.
Suddenly, I am struck by one.
It wraps around my arm like tape.
Breaking free, I begin to run.

I glance back at that old elm tree.
Branches are coming after me.
