Sense Sonnet - Acher

Johnny Doe

Johnny Doe was the name I got
When I was found dead in a field,
Discarded like trash in that spot.
Exact cause of death did not yield.
3 years old in tee shirt and jeans.
Authorities put out the word
To learn who I was, by some means.
A response back was never heard.
Two years went by and finally,
Still unknown, I was laid to rest.
And what really happened to me
Was buried too, an unsolved quest.

Carved by good strangers, "Son Unknown,"
"But Not Forgotten," on my stone.
