Filling In and Up

I brought the kitten home with me,
When I found it under the hood
Of my car. It meowed helplessly,
Scared and hungry in kittenhood.
My Lily met us at the door.
The dachshund did a sniffing strong.
I wasn't sure what was in store
On how the two would get along.
They seemed okay, and later on
I found Lily nursing, as though
The maternal phenomenon
Could spur the milk of life to flow.

The once momless little feline
Now has a supermom canine.
