Sense Sonnet - Chiller

Dreamer

I couldn't wait to fall asleep,
Anxious to dream my cares away.
No need for me to count some sheep,
Soon drifting off to come what may.
I dreamed of spiders - big and brown,
Spinning their dark web over me.
I watched them slowly dangling down,
To take their helpless prey to be.
Screaming, I finally awoke.
Above me still, the spiders spun.
I knew this wasn't any joke.
My long nightmare had just begun.

I'm doomed forever, it would seem,
To wake up in the same bad dream.
