Sense Sonnet - Tickler

Rosey Nosey

"Stop and smell the roses," she said.
My therapist was telling me
To slow down and enjoy, instead
Of being in a mad hurry.
I left her couch to catch a bus.
It just took off as I got there.
I was about to fume and cuss,
When I smelled roses in the air.
A bush of them was growing by
The sidewalk, in somebody's yard.
I leaned toward one that caught my eye,
And took a big sniff - long and hard.

So much for smelling up the rose.
A bumblebee flew up my nose.
