 Royal Fan

Jane Austin had a loyal royal fan,

The then Prince Regent who praised her.

She disliked him as a weak man,

But at his request did assure

That her next novel, "Emma," would

Be dedicated to the Prince.

And true to her word, Jane made good

In bold type dedication, hence,

Into the Royal Library went

"Emma," Jane's duty had been done.

But in private she would present

The Prince as a bore to poke fun.

After Jane passed away, this same

Royal fan, King George the Fourth became.
