On T.V. was my sheer delight.

The folks just frowned as I did view

His performance that special night.

All his records and movies were

As though he performed just for me.

Someday I'd visit him for sure,

Bus trip to Memphis, Tennessee.

The day I heard that Elvis died,

The kid in me broke down and cried.
