Sense Sonnet - Pumper

 Kite Flying

Grandson, Grandpa and I, Sunday,

At the beach under warm sunlight.

Grandson and I have come to play.

Grandson's trying out a new kite.

Grandpa has come to make sure we

Behave ourselves like youngsters should.

Puffing his pipe, Grandpa does be

Sitting in a cozy spot, good

To read the newspaper, of course.

Some running feet do plow by him,

Grandson's and my feet be the source,

Leaving Grandpa looking quite grim.

Grandson's running keeps that kite up.

I run along, a happy pup.
