Sense Sonnet - Pumper

 Hope Gave Us Will

We had gotten married quite young,

Had a daughter, who sadly grew,

As her parents, with sharpened tongue,

Had more and more fights, which came to

Using our daughter as a pawn,

Till finally came in pained course,

When all love between us was gone,

The two of us got a divorce,

With shared custody of young Hope.

When Hope was to get married, I

Was not really sure how to cope.

Thankfully hard each ex  did try.

And at our daughter's wedding, we

Behaved ourselves quite civilly.
