Sense Sonnet - Chiller
They Keep Us Apart
I was there above where you lay,
My hands digging the soft brown earth,
Taking whatever time it may.
My life without you has no worth.
So back home I was taking you.
But somehow they knew where I'd be.
Keep us apart they've come to do.
And quickly they grabbed hold of me.
I screamed at them that they were wrong.
Then by them I was gagged and bound,
Dragged away I could hear your song,
Sadly echoing from the ground.
Separated from you is hell.
They've locked me in this padded cell.
