Sense Sonnet - Pumper
They Come and Go
I've stood in this same prairie spot,
As all of them do come and go.
And they have come and gone a lot.
First they were chasing buffalo.
Then in covered wagons they came
And went, but always some around.
Road and fencing, progress their aim.
I watch their planes fly from my ground.
Now I notice one of them who
Has stopped down on the road and is
Taking a picture, as they do.
Why? I don't know, none of my biz.
Still on this prairie spot I be,
As they come and go by this tree.
