Sense Sonnet - Acher
The Blast from the Past
Seeing the eruption firsthand
Of a close volcano was such
Intense sensing to understand,
Happening so real and so much.
The fiery blast into the air,
In one sense a beautiful sight,
But at the same time, such a scare,
Immense of unfamiliar fright.
Explosive sound with burning smell,
Then taste and touch of ash there be.
All my senses focused on hell
That this was happening to me.
I was lucky, escape I got.
Sadly, others I heard did not.
