Sense Sonnet - Acher
Homesick
Through a good life we reached age of
Retirement and we moved to live
Deep in the woods we'd grown to love,
To the dream house we hoped would give
Us many years of joy and peace.
And for six years such was the case,
But suddenly it all did cease.
A raging wildfire we did face,
And were forced to evacuate,
Our dream home burned to the ground.
Much we cherished met ashes fate.
The two of us left homeless bound.
We decided not to return,
Worried a rebuilt home would burn.
