Sense Sonnet - Pumper

 Griffin Guards Gold

I'm called the griffin and I be

Part lion and part eagle, so

Superior strength is within me,

As many peoples came to know.

I live with my kind, young and old,

And we achieve our greatest worth

Being protectors of the gold

Found anyplace around the Earth.

Why guard the gold I'm often asked.

Lions and eagles aren't gold fans.

I don't know why we were so tasked,

But people crave gold through time spans.

In modern time I will return.

Fort Knox, destination I yearn.
