 Yellow-Bellied Sea Snake

A yellow-bellied sea snake, I

Drift with warm ocean currents and

Once in a while, though I don't try,

Drift to New Zealand where I'm banned,

Along with any and all snakes.

I really don't know why that is.

Humans can be weird and that makes

Me want to stay out of their biz.

But luckily when I drift to

New Zealand just by accident,

The law there says humans can't do

Me any harm, and off I'm sent.

Sometimes I wish that there would be

Laws banning humans from the sea.
