 Beltane

The Celtic festival, Beltane,

On each May first did celebrate

Beginning of summer to reign,

And hope for a bountiful fate.

Special bonfires be kindled to

Bring protective powers of fire.

Celt folks and their cattle walked through,

Leaping over flames to inspire

A successful summer of light,

Bringing blessings to each household,

That summer would be warm and bright,

Giving wellness to young and old.

Beltane season brought hope Celts yearned,

In song and dance as bonfires burned.
