Sense Sonnet - Tickler
Reprieve
It started out such a nice day
To be alive and in the park,
A lot of brightness on display.
But then it all turned ugly dark.
Those furthest out were ones first heard
The roared sound of impending doom.
Then whole community got word,
And mass despair and fear did loom.
It was a threat the old had known,
Had survived, now the young to tell
Of punishment for having grown,
And now must face a slashing hell.
In the chaos, calm came over,
As the mower missed the clover.
