Sense Sonnet - Steamer

 Momma's Superstitious

I gave Momma a lot of stress.

So superstitious she did be.

When I was thirteen months old, yes,

Momma was so upset with me.

I walked under a ladder and

Bumping it, I caused it to fall,

Breaking a mirror on the night stand.

Momma screamed, "Writing's on the wall."

"Seven years of bad luck, my child."

"I gotta wash your hands and face."

Momma scrubbed me, still shrieking wild.

Thanks to me she'd gone basket case.

Momma tried hard to turn me good,

Fourteen months old now, knock on wood.
