Sense Sonnet - Acher
Pan and Syrinx
Pan, horny god of the wild, ran
Through the woods and did see Syrinx who
Caught his lustful eye and began
A long, long chase, and Syrinx ran to
A river where her father, god
Of rivers turned her to marsh reeds.
But this subterfuge became flawed
When Pan, known for his anger deeds,
Smashed and broke the marsh reeds apart,
Tying the pieces together in
Musical pipes so to outsmart
Syrinx who did lose and Pan did win.
Thus Pan the trickster played trick of
Possessing Syrinx reluctant love.
