 She Left Me

I often wonder about her.

An old color slide is all I've

Got to prove she was real for sure.

I wonder if she's still alive.

I took the slide one day when we

Were listening to the radio.

The song playing happened to be

Crosby, Stills and Nash, "Chicago."

We were in Chicago that day

Staying at Hotel Belvedere.

I recall to me she did say,

"I'll be right back, so please stay here."

She left for a cigarette pack,

And my mother never came back.
