Sense Sonnet - Pumper
Dug In
Went on a digging as a quirk
With my so long time and best chum.
Probably less fun and more work,
But what the heck, we both were dumb.
Each of us were absorbed in mirth,
As in harmonic, zestful toil
We dissipated loads of earth
Into umpteen pilings of soil.
Deeper we dug, the more cavelike
And encapsulated we got.
Our whimsey got us stuck - yike!
Finding way up and out we sought.
We yelled at each other in blame.
They heard us and all parents came.
