 No Let Poet

Returning to my hometown, I

Was looking for an apartment,

For a tenancy to apply.

One ad looked good and so I went.

"No poets" the ad did include.

Must be a typo for "No pets."

Arriving, I was interviewed

By the landlady, cigarettes

And other smoking stuff a "No."

That was agreeable to me.

The landlady wanted to know

'Bout my work productivity.

I replied I'm a sonneteer.

Then Mom said, "No vacancy here."
