 Chain of Events

I heard the trick or treaters ring,

And hurried barefoot to the door.

Suddenly, my world was spinning,

As I slipped on the dusty floor.

While going down I did grab at

The dinner table cloth and jerked.

A lit candle fell over flat.

On my back I was feeling irked.

The situation turned quite dire.

I sensed flames and smoke all around.

Trick or treaters were screaming, "Fire."

Then louder came the sirens' sound.

Was not a Happy Halloween,

With firemen on my home front scene.
