Tomb of the Red Queen
The Mayan Tomb of the Red Queen,
Matriarch of a dynasty,
Wife and Mother in ancient scene,
Royal o'er valour and victory.
Thought sixty years old when she died,
To the city's great pyramid,
Her sarcophagus placed inside.
Some sacrificed dead servants did
Accompany as guards for her
Remains and treasures in her tomb.
The priests spread potion to assure
Evil spirits could cause no doom.
Queen covered in vermilion red,
Cinnabar dust for honored dead.
