Sense Sonnet - Pumper
Sun of a July Word Bank
It was a scorcher of a day,
Hot as a tortilla on fire.
A windmill did just melt away
Into a tapioca mire,
Causing a landslide to thunder
Through a grove of giant oak trees,
Sending acorns all asunder,
To pyramid in a trapeze,
Dragging an armadillo and
An iguana in rolls and flips
Of reptile scale and mammal band.
And then came a solar eclipse.
And all did settle down after.
Reptile and mammal shared laughter.
