Sense Sonnet - Acher
Price Reduction
Living with myself cost too much.
Addictions turned the price too high.
From reality I lost touch,
But came time I could not deny
My life was filled with too much pain,
And emptied of all else once good.
Nothing of worth did still remain.
The price I had paid never would
Allow myself to forgive me.
So a decision I did make.
I did turn my price tag to free,
And I did jump into the lake.
As I did breathe in waters deep,
Living with myself did turn cheap.
