 The First Responder's Husband

I think when she's done with her shift,

And returns to me safe and sound,

That's when my love has the most lift,

And when my relief does abound

Of course the first thing that she does

Is make certain her gun's secure.

She never forgets that becuz

It is family first for sure.

She doesn't like to talk about

The negatives she's had that day.

But any positives, no doubt,

She shares with me in joyful way.

I hope this share will never stop

As long as my wife is a cop.
