Sense Sonnet - Pumper
Summering '22 - LP Zoo
Back are black crowned night herons who
Spend summertime, hundreds fly north,
Here at home in Lincoln Park Zoo,
To let procreating go forth.
First the will be Dads do show up
To fix old nests or new nests make.
Then will be Moms do follow, yup,
The next few months for fam'ly sake.
Come egg, come hatch, come hatchling care,
Both parents feeding mouth to mouth,
Through summer months bird lives to share,
Come autumn then all fly back south.
Over and near red wolves they nest.
The wolves dissuade other threats best.
