 Eternally Promising

A politician died and went

To hell, meeting the devil there.

In welcome Satan did present

A very promising affair,

If the politician did choose

To vote out heaven and in hell.

The politician with enthuse

Picked the devil with whom to dwell.

After the politician chose

Hell, Satan quickly then applied

The heat as burning fires arose.

The politician screamed, "You lied!"

Satan smiled, "You know politics."

"We get your vote with dirty tricks."
