Sense Sonnet - Pumper
Borrowed Conscience
I read Pinocchio when young,
And how Jiminy Cricket be
The wood boy's conscience with a tongue.
I wanted such conscience for me,
Someone who'd be witty and fun,
Offering me a helping hand,
Singing to me that I was one,
"When You Wish Upon a Star" and
All my good wishes could come true,
If with me my friend's conscience dwell.
Like Jiminy Cricket did do,
And Pinocchio turned out well.
When in good conscience I abide,
Jiminy Cricket's at my side.
