The young snow monkey, two months old,

Now ventures away from Mom to

Go solo, curious and bold,

Here at home in Lincoln Park Zoo.

The infant takes a journey that

Brings it in close proximity

With others in the habitat,

Cause for hang out activity.

This is part of the learning curve

To help young snow monkeys do well,

Encouraging increasing nerve

To bond with those with whom they dwell.

The young snow monkey day by day

Reaches out in a social way.
