Workers will get time off with pay

To celebrate a past event.

In Texas eighteen sixty five

On June 19th the army freed

The remaining slaves still alive,

The end of slavery indeed.

But not till twenty twenty one

Did the federal government be

Willing or able to get done

Holiday against slavery.

As usual the Feds do rate

Poorly for always being late.
