Sense Sonnet - Pumper
Amare - Social Distancing - LPZoo
Amare, the gorilla, is
Sitting still upon a tree stump,
Adroit with acrobatic biz,
Balanced upon his feet and rump.
Both arms folded against his chest,
And with a calm and serene gaze,
As though he is taking a rest
From any and all hectic ways.
Four hundred twenty pounds of weight
Upon a ten pound stump of wood
Is difficult to contemplate,
But Amare makes it look good.
Through the Covid phenomenon
Care at Lincoln Park Zoo goes on.
