Sense Sonnet - Pumper

Canada Thanksgiving

Canada has Thanksgiving too,
Each October second Monday.
English and French traditions do
Exist and each come into play.
The year 1578
English arrived in the far north.
Beef and biscuits and peas they ate,
Gave thanks to God for going forth.
And in the year 1616
In what is Nova Scotia now
Some French settlers did convene
With natives for some feastful chow.

Canada's Thanksgivings's more subdued,
Not all the shopping attitude.
