Bold and Hard - LP Zoo

Now that I'm over six years old
Here at home in Lincoln Park Zoo
This eastern box turtle is bold,
Out and about a lot I do.
Up until my sixth year or so
I was hiding most of the time.
Deep into dark places I'd go
With no desire to rise and climb.
Then in my sixth year I did feel
The urge to go out and about,
Really changed my life a great deal.
Something happened to me no doubt.

After my sixth year I could tell
It went from soft to hard - my shell.
