Sense Sonnet - Pumper

Super Tongue - LP Zoo

A chameleon learns quite young
That catching bugs and worms depends
On the quick draw of the long tongue.
Such means does justify the ends.
If I desire, I can project
Twice as far as my body long
My tongue to do its launch correct,
With snapping fast and snapping long.
At the Lincoln Park Zoo I get
Free room and board, and when I see
The keeper, then it's a safe bet
That there's some food in hand for me.

I heed one human quote, I do.
Do not bite the hand that feeds you.
