Sense Sonnet - Tickler
A Stitch in Time
Ben Franklin was a late night guy.
In Paris on some biz and fun.
Woke up to a bright sunny sky,
At 6 a.m. - what had he done!
Forgot to shut the shutter so
Woke earlier than normal noon.
Ben pondered in the early glow,
Early rising should be a boon,
Induce folks to get up at dawn,
Cannons, church bells - such sounds to rock.
Candle ration, shuttle tax on.
Even change time, changing the clock.
The satire side of Ben awoke.
Daylight savings time was a joke.
