Sense Sonnet - Chiller

Oops Day

'Twas June 3, 1944.
A prerecorded newsflash went,
"Invasion of France" for the war.
Worldwide this message did get sent.
A young typist, age 22,
Was practicing for the real thing,
Hit the wrong button I did do,
An end to that job that did bring.
All the radio and the press
Had to follow up with an "Oops!"
And hope the Germans would not guess
I really had dished out big scoops.

D-Day - June sixth and not June third.
Just call me one dumb early bird.
