Sense Sonnet - Pumper

Tawny Frogmouth - LP Zoo

A tawny frogmouth - yes I be.
From the land down under I roam,
A tawny feathered bird to see.
The Lincoln Park Zoo is my home.
Humans oft take me for an owl,
Nocturnal, wide eyed, rounded head.
But frogmouth is a unique fowl.
Owls say, "Who." We say, "Oom" instead.
Humans gave us the frogmouth name,
Kind of a stretch as humans do.
Eating insects is my main aim.
Calling humans frogmouth - more true.

"Oom, oom, oom," is how I relate
To all who visit, "G'day mate!"
