Sense Sonnet - Pumper

"You're Welcome" Pink Slip

Somebody says "Thank you" to me.
"You're welcome," the ingrained reply.
May or may not a welcome be.
Never really pondered the why.
Most "thank yous" are for something quick,
Pick up a drop, open a door.
No time desired for lengthy schtick,
Pop up polite and nothing more.
Some say such back and forth contact
Should take on Golden Rulish feel,
To further praise each polite act,
As important, but no big deal.

So now when someone says, "Thank you."
Maybe I will just say, "You'd do."
