Scheherezade

A good sales pitch is short and sweet,
But Scheherezade proved not so.
A thousand and one nights her feat
Of telling stories long ago
To the king who would take a wife
Each and every night, and then
The next morning would take her life.
Scheherezade over again,
Night after night kept the king awed,
So that the king never tired of
The stories of Scheherezade,
And kept her with him out of love.

Not brief, but long winded instead,
Scheherezade did keep her head.
