Sense Sonnet - Tickler

Paint Job

The Pope hired Michelangelo
To make the huge ceiling stand out
In the Sistine Chapel; to show
What faith and hope were all about.
Michelangelo gave his all.
He worked on his back, day and night,
In winter, spring, summer and fall,
Creating there a wondrous sight.
At last the frescoes were complete,
Well worth the long years toiled and tasked.
The Pope viewed the artistic feat.
"What do you think?" the artist asked.

"Not bad." the Pope said, "But, please note,"
"We do expect a second coat."
